DC Activist’s Home Raided, Request for Solidarity

Donate Here

On Monday, April 3, 2017, Metropolitan Police Department raided a known activist’s home in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC.

According to the search warrant, the raid was in furtherance of “the investigation into the conspiracy to riot” and to search for items associated with the “Black Bloc march on January 20, 2017”.

Among the items taken were cell phones, computers, and irreplaceable personal belongings. The known activist’s home was targeted because MPD believed he was in possession of the equipment used to organize and support the protests.

Due to this miscarriage of justice, we are asking for solidarity from the community at large to help replace the thousands of dollars worth of computers and other electronic equipment seized.

Events and Resources for the Week Of Solidarity Against Repression April 1st – 8th

From April 1st to 7th, actions, informational events, film screenings, and benefits will all take place across so-called North America and beyond. The purpose of the week of action is simple: to come together and push back against a wave of repression that has been growing in the United States and accelerated by the coming to power of the Trump administration.

Since Trump has come into office, we have seen over 200 people face felony charges in Washington DC after being kettled on J20, over 100 are threatened with charges in Sacramento for taking part in an antifascist demonstration there last June, and over 800 water protectors face charges from a grand jury convened at Standing Rock. Meanwhile, several states have also been trying to push through a set of laws which would further criminalize protest and make it easier for protesters to be fined, face greater charges, and in some cases, even be killed if they block roadways.

This wave of repression cannot also be divorced from the deadly acts of terror being carried out by the far-Right. As Trump supporters attack counter-demonstrators in Huntington Beach while chanting the name of the fascist dictator ‘Pinochet,’ mosques, black churches, LGBTQI centers, and synagogues are attacked, burned, and shot at, and members of the Alt-Right murder people in the street.

Now is the time to come together, discuss how we can support each other, and continue forward on the path ahead. Now is the time to make our friends across the country know that we have their backs. Now is the time to remember that in the face of everything, we as a movement support each other, we back each other up, and we all know that an injury to one of us, is an injury to all of us.

We don’t forgive, and we don’t forget.

Fire to the prisons!
Drop the charges and fucking free them all!

Portland, OR: Anarchists Are Fixing Potholes On City Streets

Because we believe in building community solutions to the issues we face, outside of the state.

Because society portrays anarchists as only breaking windows and blocking roads.

Because when faced with anarchism as a political theory, statists often ask, “But who will fix the roads?”

Because the city of Portland refuses to adequately repair roads in a timely manner.

We are Portland Anarchist Road Care. We believe in community oriented direct action. We believe the state cares more about funding a militarized police force…than caring for and repairing the roads.

The city of Portland has shown gross negligence in its inadequate preventative care through this winter’s storms, and through its slow repair of potholes as weather has improved. Daily, this negligence is an active danger to cyclists and causes damage to people’s automobiles, and an increased risk of collision and bodily injury.

Portland Anarchist Road Care aims to mobilize crews throughout our city, in our neighborhoods, to patch our streets, build community, and continue to find solutions to community problems outside of the state.

What’s Going Down

The Trump Regime is ugly.  There is no doubt about that, except in some circles.  What it really is, is a continuation of free-market capitalism that was started a long while back… People fled europe in the 15th century to escape oligarchs and monarchs among other things. But those same principles of capitalism have followed.  The wealth and therefore the power has been retained within a select few of families.  What kind of equality is that?  Freedom of speech is corrupted on a daily basis, for example: how workers in the so called u.s. are controlled to not speak to co-workers about how much each individual makes.  This is an example how the owners of the companies we work for try and control the wages we make.  We don’t care what part of the political spectrum you come from, we are all working people except for the 1%.  Freedom of speech is being controlled by the people in power of our lives.  Whenever you hesitate to share your wages or your political views, your speech is being controlled by the power of the state and capitalism.  Start sharing your wages with co-workers, then start figuring out how to demand more payment for the work you do.  The owners are making a shit ton of money off of your daily labor.  They only exist because you provide their business with function.  Why don’t you deserve an equal pay with everyone working for the company involved (including the owners)… Do something about it, we can guarantee that co-workers and even managers will be interested in earning more.

Peace, Love, and Anarchism for all,
